Question & Answer session with Stinky the Bulldog

Q - What do you think when you hear about other people who are ignored or criticized based on their name or the way they look?

STINKY - I think it's sad when people are shunned because of their name. Everyone has something special to offer and I will never understand why people would criticize or ignore others based on their looks or what their names are. I think we pass up knowing some really great people by doing that.

Q - Do you think society has improved as far as its acceptance of people who are different than the mass?

STINKY - I think society has improved, but there are still many who do not accept others who are different. I experience this sometimes when I try to make new friends, so that tells me we still have a lot of work to do.

Q - What do you think the future holds for the majority's attitude toward racial, ethnic and ancestrally different people?

STINKY - There are more and more people in our country and around the globe that are of different backgrounds than the majority. If we all learn to accept others and their great differences, we will be a stronger country for it. If we do not accept others, we will see more sadness in the world.

Q - Do you think there's a solution for people of the same ethnicity who are violent against one another?

STINKY - I think they just need to take the time to understand each other and appreciate their similarities and differences. Sometimes, people of the same ethnicity are violent against one another because they practice different religions, are members of rival gangs or view key issues differently. Though the differences can divide, they can also heal and make things stronger. If we just take the time to understand the differences and similarities and embrace each other, we can overcome a great deal!
